When I was put in the high risk category, I kept my Ob but also had another clinic I went to which communicated with my Ob what was going on as they monitored me more. It may be an option that yours will do something similar. Might be they have the experience that they are a high risk Ob without the official title too. The preterm labor scares are trying. My doc expected me to go between 34-37 weeks...and here I am at 38+5. Just follow their advice and take care of yourself. That's all you can do. Good luck!
I too have a high risk pregnancy but mine is because of a stroke I had 4 years ago, but my ob didn't refer me to a high risk ob either, we just moved yesterday and my doc is an hour away so Definately scary. I think it is a boy thing cause my little man kicks so much it hurts to, my DD was so gentle when I was pregnant with her. Its good ur staying close with a friend Definately a smart idea.
Thank u for your response. I see my Dr tomorrow. I'm concerned because my Dr is 2 hours away. I'm staying at a friend's house. And hospital out here said I should stay with my Dr when I asked for a referral to a high risk ob out here. I have post breast cancer, GD. And a low placenta. I'm just happy my lil man is doing great in my belly. I love when he moves which is all the time. But man it hurts when I'm having contractions. Glad to heat its not to serious.
I have had a irritable uterus for about 5 weeks I have been admitted to L&D for times for 48 hours because of contraction and because they stopped and I was not dilating they sent me home and told me to restrict my activities as that can cause contractions. Make sure ur bladder is always empty but make sure ur hydrated as well. Orgasm will cause ur uterus to produce contractions so also be aware. I don't go in with just contractions anymore only if they are painful and 5-10 mins apart. My little man also cause me to have contractions when he is really active. I'm currently on modified bed rest due to the irritable uterus. Its not serious just something to keep an eye on cause it can throw u into early labor. Good luck my dear.
