what anaesthesia did they give me? lol

I was just trying to read about the differences between a saddle block. ..epidural etc etc...
So with my first I tried to go naturally but there were complications and I had a c section... so obviously I had the epidural...
With my 2nd I was dead set on a vbac and I thought that I tired myself out last time so I wanted something that was not an epidural but would take the edge off so I could rest before having to push ( i really did NOT want a c section) but whatever they gave me did go into the spine. I know it was not an epidural because I asked if it was and the nurse told me it was too late for that lol.
Well I could still feel the contractions,it still kinda hurt,I could move my legs because I told the nurse to shut up and give me the "foot things" so I could push and I moved my own legs into them. I felt the head and shoulders and it seriously felt like someone held a lighter to my crotch lol

I thought maybe it was a saddle block but I was reading on baby center that a saddle block affects you differently thab I experienced. Women said you can't feel anything. You cant move your legs etc etc...

What did I have? Lol

There could be a chance it was a saddle block and just didn't take all the way? I had an epidural each pregnancy and none of them fully worked (with the last baby they gave me two and neither worked at all but the second one made my left leg swell and made me throw up) I was I still able to raise my legs into the stirrups myself. Maybe you had the same experience with the saddle block.
