@Emily070: well, I'm aware of that too lol - BUT starting now does help. my OB actually asked if I've had any trouble with making it to the potty yet.. my reply was no, kegels work wonders! she agreed!! -- my mama had to have surgery & a sling put in due to having such a weak bladder, and I was told doing the exercises now will hopefully prevent me from going through the same thing.. due to pregnancy of course. for years she thought she just had a bladder disease, but we're almost 100% me & my brother caused it! ((:
Angrog is correct but in addition as stated that kegals strengthen your pelvic floor and muscles its also great for bladder strength and control now and as we age. Personally i think we should not only do them during pregnancy but always throughout life. If that's not enough insentive they also tighten the walls of your vagina making you tighter and sex more pleasurable. They are beneficial for many reasons throughout our lives :-)
OctoberMommy2014, the bladder control issues come after the baby is born ;)
This is my 4th pregnancy and I've did them every time. It worked for me and I hope it does this time. Good luck.
they do help...because they arr basically about muscle control, focusing on one area to tighten and be able to relax, and they are greatly beneficial to healing up after and returning to healthy function
I hope it helps with delivery lol I've ALWAYS done kegels, just because I heard it made sex better? lol BUT I'm 24w3d & I've not had any trouble/problems holding my pee in yet! lol
my baby boy kicks my bladder like a soccer ball, but hopefully the kegels I've done & continue to do are and will help! ((:
I do them, but I was doing then before as well. This is my first pregnancy, so I'm not sure how much it will help.
I'm not sure if they help at all with delivery, but they do help get things back in shape after! They also help you to not pee your pants every time you sneeze, cough or jump!
yeah I've heard they're great, but I was wondering if anyone has personally tried them within their pregnancy. thanks so much though! (:
I am new too, but I looked up exercises for pregnant mom and they said to do kegal exercises.
