Most stores will give you a checklist u can use. I did one registry so far and I'm 24wks and I'm doing another this weekend:) My biggest advice to you is to get it done before ur 3rd trimester or late pregnancy since u will need patience, time and energy to do a registry. My fiancée and I are first time parents and we had a prepared list plus the one from the store and it took us 4hrs for the entire process!!!! Exhausting!!!!  It can be a really fun process tho, so enjoy it! :)

I was thinking about tri folds with a cover. ... maybe a couple ones that come with inserts to make it easier for the grandparents

What kind of cloth diapers are you going to be using? I love my gDiapers :-) but we tried a bunch of different kinds and I liked pockets okay too. You might want to register for a couple of smaller wetbags for your diaper bag and a couple of big ones for laundry (I always liked to have two of each size so there's a backup when one is in the wash - actually a third small one for bathing suits/swim diapers is awesome in the summer too). Are you thinking about cloth wipes? Diaper sprayer/Spray Pal also a great idea. I had a folding drying rack to air/dry/store/display my diapers, it was a huge help - something else you might want to consider tossing onto your registry.

Also - the really cool thing about an Amazon registry is that if people want to buy something through a retail store there is an option to check something off even if it's not bought through the amazon website - "buying this product elsewhere" is a really awesome thing. But of course some people aren't super good at following directions so you might want to keep up a retail registry like at BRU - I'd put the same things on both and just keep an eye on it, if something gets checked off the BRU registry you can manually check it off the amazon one too so you don't get multiples unintentionally.

Put different items on the registries, they have different selections. Amazon has all the cloth diapers.  I was doing some diaper research, found these very extensive ratings for all the cloth systems http://www.babygearlab.com/Cloth-Diaper-Reviews

We registered on Amazon.com-just finished it this week. They have a really helpful set up that helps you make sure you get everything you need. They give you 15 suggested categories & there's a helpful video too. Good luck!

I also started an Amazon one about 4 months, I was excited (still am). They give you great things to start with. One tip I will say is to read reviews and shop around, it's my favorite thing about doing it through Amazon. You get honest reviews. Get the basics done first: your preferred diaper, breast feeding supplies like pads, nipple protectors, and storage bags/bottles if you're pumping. The first month is all pajamas, so skip the cute outfits and just get 0-3mo pjs, seriously. Get swaddling blankets. Also register for things like diaper creme, first aid kit, bath soaps, etc; they make great small gifts.

Take someone with you who knows. My sister came with me. I started my registry when I was 4 months pregnant. Do it in sections too because you will get tired and hungry! I just had my shower and not many people use or follow the registry. I still have a ton of stuff we need because everyone wanted to by my baby girl clothing.

Register once you know the date for your shower, some people shop early. Be sure to have items at a variety of price points, so people can spend what they are comfortable with. Register for what you need and will use. No point in having useless stuff around or wasting people's money

If you go to amazon.com it gives you a sort of guide/categories to go by. It's pretty cool.

I would say around 6-7 months (it really depends on when your planning on having your shower). Register for anything you think you might need or want. Ideas would be bottles, pacifiers, blankets, bibs, burp clothes, sheets, clothes, bath tub, swing, high chair, bouncer seat, crib, pack and play, car seat, cloth diapers, baby monitor, nipples for bottles, bottle brush, etc... You can also register for things as they grow like spoons, sippy cups, safety proof items, etc... Just look while your at the store registering to see what you like. I always put the bigger items on there too so people know I need it and can give me gift cards towards it. Just suggestions. Good luck!!
