I had the soft store bought ones and then as the carpal tunnel progressed and got worse I had special ones molded/cast to my particular arms that helped for a Bit but ultimately had to havev surgery. The surgery was a success though but I'm nervous about this pregnancy

Are they the soft splint? Because, while they are annoying, they helped me a lot. You can loosen them off. If they are on properly they should keep your hands from swelling too much...
I've had the same thing since I started sleeping on my side but even before I was pregnant when I slept on my back and rested my hand on my stomach they would go numb. Its apparently carpal tunnel and its driving me nuts can't wait to sleep on my back again
I had carpal tunnel syndrome in my 1st pregnancy and it was horrible. They ended up making a mold brace that fit my arm. It helped for ab short time but after my son was born it still never went aaway andbi ended up having surgery on both habda
Yes its very painful I had it with my other two pregnancies but they weren't painful like this I'm almost 38,weeks and it soo painful in the middle of the night and can't sleep anymore it shoots up to my shoulder in the back at times I don't know what helps I have to just deal with it ..
Ice helps as does lemon or lime water but I was told under no circumstances is it safe to take Advil, Tylenol, ect. Tried the braces by my hands swell so badly at night it cuts off the circulation! oh well, only two more weeks to go!
I've had this since I was 14 weeks.I'm 26 weeks now. It's carpol tunnel. It's normal but it won't to away until after the baby is born. My doctor told me to use a hand brace to keep it elevated, you can take Tylenol for the pain and also, put an ice pack on your wrist it should help. Hope it helps for you.
