ovarian cysts

Hi there.. I'm pregnant with my first and 6 weeks along. Due to an irregular cycle my doctor sent me along for a dating scan yesterday.  During the scan they found two cysts on my right ovary measuring around 5cm... she didnt seem too worried but my doctor has since called to ask me to come and see her regarding the scans.. I do get a bit of occasional pain on my right hand side from time to time but nothing too serious.  Just wondering if anyone else has had cysts during their pregnancy and what it meant for you? Thanks!

Hello I am 34 yrs old. I just found out that I have a 5.9 cm cyst on my right ovary. Still have not had surgery for removal and not to shure when that will be. Me and the hubby want another baby ASAP. Has anyone been pregnant with a cyst my size and everything was ok. I guess my question is could we start trying to conceive ? Has a doctor told anyone haveing a cyst while pregnant ok and safe?

I had "good-sized" cysts on my ovaries and they never caused issues (I'm about 16 weeks now).

There's nothing to worry about, mine was 6cm on my right side, I felt pain through my first trimester but once the baby got bigger it went away

I didn't start getting them until my second pregnancy (and I still get them in my third) mine usually went away on their own. I was told from my doc tht it my body would absorb it and the pain would stop. It did. But every woman is different, it never hurts to ask your doc if you have anymore questions. Good luck hun

Quite commonly you'll get a cyst on the follicle from which the egg was released during ovulation. I had one on my left ovary in the very beginning of my pregnancy, so the doctor knows that I ovulated from the left side. Not sure the size of mine, but I have heard it can cause some issues if it is really large. If it's "normal" size and from ovulation, it will typically just go away on it's own. Congratulations on your pregnancy!
