It's just means they are going to monitor my labour, and have the meds (an injection to help you tummy contract a after the baby's born to help speed up the placenta coming away and helps reduce blood loss). I've been told about being put on an IV during labour to monitor my blood pressure if I do loose alot of blood after. It's reassuring to know that they are taking steps to prevent it happening again and that all the right things are going to be in place.
When you talk to your doctor ask them about it, yell them about your previous situations and they will probably put things into place to help. I've been told by my consultant that as long as I deliver in hospital I don't have to worry. But I'm an anxious person so worry is just the norm for me. I will keep you posted and same goes for you. Good luck with everything.
i just found out I'm pregnant 6 weeks and terrified I've actually contemplated getting an abortion :( just to not have to go thru that again. There is comfort in knowing others have gone through this. What did you mean by 'active delivery ' and if you can keep me posted on your delivery that would be great you are in my thoughts for sure I know how scared you must be
I'm 37+5 weeks, how far along are you? I've not heard of someone who has had problems with their placenta so it's nice to find someone with some common ground.
im sorry to hear about your troubles with delivery. I will pray that everything goes well for you this time around :) how far along are you?

I'm in exactly the same position, with my first baby who was born at 40 weeks my placenta didn't want to come away, I had to have meds and loads of doctors pushing on my tummy hard for 30 mins to get it to come away, lost loads of blood.
With my second, my son was stillborn and my placenta didnt come away at all, I had the docs pushing on my tummy, same meds as before and then like you I was rushed to theatre to have it removed manually, I lost so much blood I had to stay in hospital out of them fearing I would need a blood transfusion.
I've had loads of consultant appointments this time round and they are going to 'actively manage' the delivery of my placenta by giving me meds asap after baby is born to help reduce blood loss and to help speed up the delivery of my placenta.
I am hoping and praying it works. I'm absolutly terrified in go going to die in labour from blood loss. I cry about it all the time and am completely anxious, with it happening to me twice I haven't got a lot of faith that it won't happen again.
I wish you lots of luck in delivery, hopefully neither of us have to experience that ever again.
