quad screening.

I just went to my appointment and my quad screening and it came back positive for down symdom.  So does this mean my baby girl will have it or its just a chance. I'm really freaking out . Positive feed back please.

I think that means there is a higher risk that baby had Downs, not that they definitely do. But ask your doctor to clarify what the results mean and what follow up tests you can have done if you want that

How far along are you? And if it is true, if she does have downs, have you decided what your next step is?

I opt out of the quad screen since there are alot of false positives with it. It is not for sure till she arrives!

Did you just do the first trimester screen or have you done the second trimester one also? I know they usually like to wait until they have both results before diagnosing. Keep your spirits up though! Nothing will be certain until your little Angel is born.

It's not a guarantee, but there could still be a chance. There are tests you can have done to confirm it.

I was told Sometimes the tests give false positives. Mine came back saying the chance for spina bifida was 1 in 244 but iv had 3 ultrasounds since then n her spine is looking perfectly normal.
