shower questions

Okay, so i live in Michigan, around the suburbs of flint. My hubbys family and friends live in the Saginaw area, and mine live just passed the Brighton area. Each are an hour or so from where we live but in opposite directions..

Idk if i should have one for each of our family and friends, in the areas that they live in, or if i should just have one big one and hope most can make it..

Did any of you mommies have a similar problem? How did you handle it? And how did it work out? Is it crazy to have two showers? I feel like thats an odd idea, i just dont want half of our family n friends not to show up cause of the distance..

I am in preparation mode like crazy, we are going to need all the help we can get. this is my first baby.. and i am pretty lost, this is all new to me.

Thank you all for the response.
Mommy love!!

Ps.. i have at least a month to figure out what to do as i wont know what i am having till the end of august i think cause i am only 8 weeks along.

If I were you I would two showers. Its not going to hurt anything. I had two because of the same thing and it worked out great.

Ok been here and done that Lol... My husbands whole family lives two hours away so I had two huge showers and it worked out great... All the grandmas and great aunts got to come because there was little travel for them and it was very nice...my only advice would be don't do them on the same weekend... I did mine on a Saturday then the Sunday and I was so tired it was horrible... My mom and mil threw them so as long as someone is willing to in both areas I say go for it :-)

I don't think two is weird at all. Its up to you and whoever is throwing the shower. If you think the families would have more fun separately have two or if they get along really well have one. Mine and my husbands family don't really get along so our shower was awkward, only 2 people showed up from his side and they didn't even stay long...

Its your baby and your big belly you have to drag around... Do you want to drive all over or not. Either way have fun!
