I see too many women on here complaining about the things that their families, boyfriends, husbands, etc say about their bodily changes during pregnancy...
One of my friends posted an article on Facebook yesterday about 96 women you won't see on billboards, they were all shapes sizes and colors and yes a few of them were pregnant. It was amazing to see these strong beautiful women who literally bared all for the camera in order to make a point that all women are beautiful. I was even more shocked when I read the comments which consisted of things like "I hate how obesity is accepted now", "this is disgusting", and "this isn't beautiful, these b*tches need to hit the gym".
We all know that pregnancy takes a huge toll on our bodies. Between stretch marks, rashes, dry skin, acne, weight gain, etc its easy to look at yourself and not like what you see. I have to admit in the beginning when I was super bloated and puking every day it was very easy to look in the mirror and hate myself. My husband would still tell me I looked beautiful, but I never believed him and always figured he was just saying it so I wouldn't go on another hormonal rant. Now that I am further along and have my little bump I have actually grown to love my pregnant self. I love looking at myself, stretch marks and all, and thinking about the little girl that I have growing inside me.
Whether you were a size 2 or a size 12 before pregnancy doesn't matter, whether you lose 5lb during your pregnancy or gain 70 also doesn't matter. You and your body are beautiful and you deserve to be told that everyday. F*ck what your family tells you or even your spouse, especially because unless they are perfect fitness models they have no right to comment on anyone's appearance but their own.
Embrace the changes that come with your pregnancy, for they are only temporary. Enjoy the time you spend caring for your little one while they are inside you and remember thateven after they are born, they don't care how you look. To them their mommy is always the most beautiful person they've ever seen, stretch marks and all.
