large vericose veins

So ive been walking around Walmart and the like very jealous of any other preggos who do not have my veins. Just wondering really how common this is. It seems only with my girls I've had horrible veins and then after birth they recede to leave spider veins behind. But during they are bulging and snake like. I used to get them occassionally on my period, but if I took aspirin or ibuprofen or some other blood thinner they would go down. Obviously I cant do that now, its summer and I cant bring myself to wear the granny socks. Ive always been althletic, never overweight and drink tons of water. So Just curious how many other girls actually get them and if you noticed more with boys or girls?

Its genetics. My grandma had them. My mom, one aunt, and one uncle have them. So needless to say I was super worried I'd get them. I've been lucky so far and only have one that's slightly coming through behind my knee. This is after 3 babies. They say the more muscular your legs are the less likely you are to get them.

I have a few but my first was a boy and so is this one so I don't have a comparison.  I was told like stretch marks they have more to do with genetics than anything else.

Its so funny. I think I got mine from my husband. His family gets them, but mine doesn't.  Lol
Two girls, and now this one, sprouted new patches and the boys nothing. The girls take after my husband, and the boys my side. I played college softball and still play volleyball and soccer (I teach phys ed), so the muscle thing cant be it. Maybe my girls are thicker blooded....who knows?!

I just noticed a huge one in my calf. No others that I have seen, thankfully. But I feel the same way!! I don't want to wear capris anymore because it looks awful. A big buldging blue wiggling vein. It's so a la Hitchcock. Boooo!
