Rant :/

So, I have spent since 5pm New Year's eve in hospital with my youngest daughter who has been diagnosed with influenza type a. Luckily I have not tested positive, but my other child (not in hospital) has also got it. Both are on anti-viral meds called Tamiflu. I absolutely hate seeing my children sick and I am always making sure my kids wash their hands often, especially after being out and about and at playgrounds etc. they drink and eat good wholesome home cooked food and drink water all day unlike alot of kids. So why is it that my child ends up in hospital because some stupid idiot takes their child to school to infect everyone and everything they touch!!!!! Some people are so inconsiderate!!!!
lucky that my #3 in the oven hasn't been affected, so I am being extra OCD about germs and washing so to make sure I dont catch it. I am grateful, however, for the awesome doctors and nurses that have gone the extra mile in ensuring my children and unborn baby are well looked after. Sorry. Rant over :/

My daughter had rota virus when she was a baby. Hospital stays,meds,ivs...the works. Now, they vaccinate against it. But they didnt then.

I cursed the world up and down saying 'I should have ....." or "people should...."
Her doctor told me to get my head out of my butt and accept that it happens. You can take measures yo prevent illnesses until youre blue in the face,if its gonna happen.. its gonna happen.
He also told me that before a child is 5.... no matter how much you try.... your child will come into contact with 25,000 different viruses and bacteria...
So dont beat yourself and others up too much...

Keep up your model parenting though lol! Im sure youre at least reducing their chances.

It could have been picked up anywhere.. example someone in your family who doesn't have it could have brought it home touched something washed there hands after and bam it's in your house! I'm a nurse and the flu (influenza) is so easy to spread!
