We decided to name my daughter Emily. Very normal and I'm so with you on this post too! Too many people are not thinking about how is going to affect them when they're older, or in school around mean children. Lol
We decided to name our son Ezra it's on the bible and my hubby's name is Israel.. So some what common but different :)
I'm not of American decent so a lot of Americans would consider my name choices to be "weird" as you say. My daughter will grow up in America but I choose to have her name contain her cultural origin. Where we come from is important and children should know their history along with learning to adapt to their current country. I'm sure my daughter will experience some narrow minded children that will call her name weird or poke fun at it but I do hope many children she encounters are taught to embrace differences and appreciate other cultures. It starts with how the parents view differences.
My daughter is goind to be emily kaylynn
My daughters name is Peyton Willow... and I love it and think it's "normal"...
My name was not very common when I was little, and is still not very common now, and I loved it and still do. I'm leaning towards a more conventional name for my child but am not sure as I lived having a different name growing up.
