leg cramps

Hi, I'm 27 weeks, this is my first pregnancy. I work part time and I'm always in feet. But for the post couple of night I've been woken up by these cramps in my calves, they are horrible ... The next morning when i wake up my calves are sore and hurts to stand or walk. It feels like I've been walking in heels all day. Idk what's going on? Am i on my feet too much? Is this something i should consult my doctor about this? Any advice would help :)

Has anyone suggested stretches? That seems to have helped me

The bananas will increase your potassium levels which is what causes cramps and Charlie horses in the legs. So try getting more potassium rich foods in your diet before trying any med.

Going with mel. Eat lots of bananas. I eat like 2+ a day and this is the first pregnancy Ive not had any serious leg cramping. So I know the bananas work :)

Thank you both for your responses! It's really appreciated. But ugh yes i walk as if I'm crippled lol. I'm also having some trouble sleeping as well, luckily I see him on Monday so i can tell him what's been going on. Good to know I'm not the only one.

Im stuck with those right now. Im 22weeks had then since 10weeks. I get then along both legs from top to bottom. Ive tried a couple of things. My dr hasnt prescribed anything he did put me on medical leave since i dont sleep at night. The only thing that gives me relief is pushing both feet against the wall and applying pressure. I walk like a have a broken leg or something cuz the pain is horrible even during the day. Apparently they have these weird stocking that helps with blood circulation. Im gonna look at the drug store next time n try them out

I had that problem in my second trimester. My doctor prescribed magnesium pills to take before bedtime. And I took them with a glass or two of cold water. It really helped.
