I made a dr apt at 8 weeks. All they did was give me a ua to confirm I was pregnant. Positive results. They scheduled another apt with the main ob nurse at 11 weeks. She did nothing but give me paperwork. And my first initial apt is at 15 weeks to get a pap and all that fun stuff. Is that a little late to have your first apt? has anyone else experienced this?

At 6 weeks they did a test to confirm pregnancy and a Us to rule out ectopic   at 7 weeks I had my second us and got to see the heartbeat so yes every doctor is  different

Mine was the exact same. 9 weeks just a sit down and pamphlets and then 11 weeks you have an ultrasound. This is really normal and doesn't mean you have bad doctors. I absolutely LOVE the practice I go to.

I'd say it all depends on where you are. And what kind of equipment your doctor has. Where I am there is no ultrasound equip at doctors offices. That is all handled through third party and you need a referral to get one done. So my monthly check ups are mostly just checking for the heartbeat and measuring.

If there aren't any indications that you areat risk, it sounds very normal to me.

At my first appointment at 7w3d I got a transvaginal ultrasound and very briefly heard the heartbeat. They also did my pap then. My second was this week at 11w3d and they allowed me to hear the heartbeat and did all of my blood work. I think it's peculiar that they aren't doing an ultrasound dating scan or any blood work until 15 weeks, but as someone above said, every doctor is different.

My first apt was at 5 1/2 weeks and they did and internal type ultra sound to find a heart beat. Which they did. I had another follow up at 8 1/2 weeks, where they took my family history, symptoms, urine sample and did another ultrasound. Now I'm on the once a month schedule and will be having blood work done at 12 1/2 weeks.

My first appointment is always at 12 weeks because that's apparently the earliest they can find the heartbeat so it's the earliest they can start checking on the baby.

My first appointment was at 9.5 weeks and they just went over insurance and family health history with me. My second appointment was yesterday (11.5 weeks) and they did the blood, urine, and pap tests. They also found the heartbeat. We won't have our first ultrasound until 20 weeks to determine gender and get to get a better guess at gestational age.

I had my first appointment and they did everything that day. I was 9wks 5days. I guess its just your drs you are going to...

My problem is they haven't done anything. Haven't had a vag exam or blood test or listened to the heartbeat. Nothing but handed me paperwork. I know the norm is a dr visit once a month.

Having an appointment every 3-4 weeks is normal.

Okay. Thank you. It just seems like its really late in the pregnancy to not have the baby checked on. And I just want to know its healthy.

Every doctor is different. That doesn't sound out of the ordinary though.
