depending on a ride to hospital..

So I'm 35 weeks ftm. And have to depend on my mom to take me to hospital when the time comes.. my mom lives literally 2min up the street from me and is the least dependable person there is. She complains about doing eveything and anything unless it Benifits her I'm scared I'm going to go into labor and she won't be there or she won't take me unless my water breaks my doc said you can be in labor w/o water breaking and if you don't go in hospital in time I can't get epidural I don't think I can do this w/o epidural (don't judge).. I'm a baby when it comes to pain.. im terrified!! My mom already said that I for sure won't go in labor before 40 weeks and she dosnt want to drive me for false labor and she won't . Idk what to think the more I get closer the more worried I get. How will I know if I'm in labor for sure?

As it is your first, you'll probably go a bit over your due date , in my understanding that is common.

If you are in pain you should go to the hospital, labor or no labor.
Or if baby is not moving etc etc.

If you truly believe your mother is not up for the task -when you need to go in..
then make other arrangements.

Good Luck!

you could always call A taxi
I know where I live people donate money to the hospitals to give patient's taxi vouchers it will pay your taxi ride in full

I would find someone else to rely on. I have extremely unreliable family too and there is absolutely no way I would hope that they would ever be there for me, they'd probably let me die before they'd get their acts together. Find a friend or neighbor or coworker or someone else you can call when you go into labor. That said, here is what Web MD says about real labor: real labor contractions are regularly spaced, usually start from back to front, feel stronger and closer together as they progress, are not eased when changing positions. Active labor contractions last 45 to 60 seconds and are 3 to 4 min apart. That's when you should go to hospital.
