Ive had my period, But I took a pregnancy test. Can that mess up the results?

My period as of right now is crazy Ive had it for almost 15 days. Most of the days were dark dark brown . Ive never had it for more than 4 days, ever. So Im freaking out. I made a appt with my gyno but I wanted to to take a prenancy test to see if it was possible to have ur period and be preggos at the time.... My test after 3 minutes showed only 1 line which is negative but I noticed the other line was very very light. not really noticiably at first glance but looking at it closely its there...

Can my period be messing with it???

yeh its really making me freak out.. wont know for sure cause my doctor is off island he doesnt get back until next week, so im stuck wondering.

your post about the tightness in your lower tummy and what felt like contractions inlcuding the clots sound so similar to what I experienced when I had an early miscarriage....

sorry If I didnt make it clear.. I posted something a couple of days ago... And Im still waiting for my appt with my doctor... Ill post what has happened, to give you all a more better view on what im talking about... Thanks all for helping me out.



MY PERIOD IS IRREGULAR. MONTH OF FEB. 2011 I GOT IT ON THE 17TH, 2 DAYS IT WAS DARK BROWN, THEN BY THE THIRD DAY IT WAS PRETTY HEAVY, AT NIGHT I WAS FEELING SO MUCH TIGHTNESS AND PAIN IN MY LOWER TUMMY. (I HAVE 3 KIDS) SO IT FELT JUST LIKE CONTRACTIONS. THE NEXT DAY I CHECKED MY PAD THERE WAS WHAT I THOUGHT A BLOOD CLOT BUT THIS WOULD NOT BREAK AWAY WHY TH NORMAL CLOTS. IT LOOKED JUST LIKE TISSUE FROM THE INSIDE, AS BIG AS A TABLESPOON (ROUND PART) I GOT PRETTY SCARED DIDNT KNOW WHAT IT IS. ITS BEEN 12 DAYS AND IM STILL LETTING OUT DARK DARK BROWN BLOOD OR SOMETHING. WHAT CAN THIS BE? I HAVENT MADE AN APPT WITH MY GYNO BUT IF ANYONE KNOWS WHAT MAY BE HAPPENING OR IF THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ANYONE. MIND SHARING WHAT THIS COULD BE?

Something similar happened to me few yrs back. I had my period for a whole month, noticed early prego signs & tested Neg for a pregnancy test. After being reviewed my OB, my mind was playing tricks w/me regarding early prego symptoms & I was over stressed causing my period long lenght of time, its rare but common.

Bleeding doesn't mess with a pregnancy test, and you also don't have a period while pregnant. Bleeding and a menstrual cycle are two very different things. I would suspect something other than pregnancy in regards to what's happening to you now.
