will i be able to get pregnant again?

I have been on the Depo shot since my son was 2 wks old. The last time I got my shot was March of 2011. How long does it take for the shot to wear off? How long do I need to wait till I can get pregnant again? I was told 6 months but I think that just seems like a long time. My son is now 19 1/2 months old now and I don't want to wait too long to have another child. I also haven't had a period since my son was born... Is that normal on the shot?

On the shot you either bleed non-stop or your period stops completely. It has a more likely effect of just stopping your cycle all together. And yes, it can take 6 months to a year for the shot to fully leave your body. You can try at any time, but until you ovulate you won't get pregnant.
