Worried I could be pregnant

I'm worried I could be pregnant. I missed the Sunday and Monday pill of week two of my birth control and then took two pills Tuesday and Wednesday to catch up. I had sex without a condom the next Friday, so 11 days after my second missed pill, and then 2 more times the next week. I got what I thought was my period a day early, but it is much lighter then normal. Should I be worried?

Well, I'm no health professional, but the way the pills work is by preventing eggs from being released (so when the sperm shows up, there are no eggs to hook up with), and by thickening the mucus so the sperm can't get to the eggs. Long story short, by the way it seems to me, you should be good. If any eggs were released from the ovaries during the days you skipped, they probably vacated the premise by the time you had sex. Keep in mind, this also varies based on the type of pill you take, and how consistent you are. Since this whole process is controlled entirely by hormones, it's extremely important to try to take it every day, and it's more effective if you can take it at the same time every day. If remembering to take it continues to be an issue, perhaps you could look into other types of birth control that require less frequent maintenance. Anyways, for now, you should still probably take a test, if possible, just in case. Again, I am by no means a professional and I don't have extensive knowledge on the topic, but I offered what I could. I hope it helped and best of luck.

Hey there. It sounds to me as if you would have been secured during the times of the unprotected sex because you took the pills to make up for the ones you missed. I am not so sure about being worried but I am sure you could always put your mind at ease and take a test.

Please keep me updated and good luck.
