That's what I meant...in a 28-day cycle, you are right. 14 days before and 14 days after are the same day. that's what i said above.
but not everyone's cycles are 28 days, so it's important to realize that you menstruate BECAUSE you ovulate. therefore, you ovulate and 2 weeks later your period should arrive. some months you might ovulate THREE weeks AFTER your period....but you can still expect your period two weeks after that because that's how ovulation and menstruation works.
Actually it's not. Before a female EVER starts a period, she ovulates 2 weeks BEFORE her next period is due.
@ashelen. You ovulate about 2 weeks before and two weeks after. Its the half way mark if your period is a 28 day cycle. Two weeks after is the same as 2weeks before
Not at all--just missing a period doesn't make you pregnant. There are dozens of things that can cause you to not have a period. Only way to know for sure is to wait and take a pregnancy test.
Yea... I got the last part.. the part I didn't get was the count two weeks before the next expected period.. and all if that.. but I have a 28 day period.
So in two weeks if my period doesn't come then I'm pregnant.
Sounds like you have a 28 day cycle, so based on that you would count back 14 days from when your NEXT cycle is due. Ovulation is what causes a menstrual period, not vise verse. This is why if a female fails to ovulate one month she doesn't have a menstrual cycle and is also why a female can become pregnant even if she doesn't ever have a period.
Okay... so my period ended two weeks ago. And now it is suppose to come in two more weeks. I'm lost! Lol
Well tomorrow is gonna be two weeks from when we did it.
Actually you ovulate approximately 2 weeks BEFORE your period is due to start. Most women have an average of a 28-day cycle, so 14 days before your period starts and 14 days after your period has started are the same day for those women. but it's important to note that not all women have the same length cycle, so you need to figure out when your period is due and count BACK 2 weeks. The reason this works, no matter how long your cycle is, is because the 2 weeks leading up to your period is called your luteal phase and almost all women have approximately the same length phase - 14 days, and the luteal phase is started by your ovulation. For women who have a shorter than 28-day cycle, they will ovulate earlier in the cycle (possibly closer to cycle day 10, 11, or 12) and some women ovulate later, if they have a longer monthly cycle.
So the question is...how long is your monthly cycle? count back 2 weeks from when you expect your period to start next, and if the date you had sex was within 5 days of the date you most likely ovulated, yes you have a chance of pregnancy but could be testing too soon.
Were they negative.?? It could be too early to tell but your probably not because you usually don't ovulate until 2 weeks after your period
Of course yyour not... I was asking for advise.. I have tooken three so far..
I'm not a pregnancy test but you can take one
