Midwife or OB?!

What is the difference between the two?! And which are all of you using?! Do most insurances cover midwifes as well?

I had a CNM(certified nurse midwife) for my first pregnancy and I absolutely loved the experience! She was part of an OBGYN group and I delivered in a hospital with an epidural. She was much more patient with me and my labor and never forced any medical intervention like c-sections or forceps on me. She was super laid back and made the whole experience very doable.I wish I could find something similar for this pregnancy. But so far no luck!

I'm definitely going with an OB, but I already know there's a very high chance that I'll have to have a c-section, since I have a heart condition, and my cardiologist isn't sure what effect labor will have on my heart.

I think the biggest difference is that midwives mainly deal with more natural pregnancies. Like ones that aren't complicated, not high risk. They deal with more natural births. For example, you wouldn't be able to use a midwife if you know you have to deliver via c-section.
I think midwives are more caring(not that doctors aren't) they are there with you most of the labor, while your OB will just show up when it's time to push =)
I'm going to have an OB  but I think midwives are just as good if your pregnancy is uncomplicated. As far as insurance, im not sure you might have to check with the insurance company.

I am not sur the difference, but I might look it up after dinner because I am curious too. But, I am 99.9% sure that I am going to stick with my doctor.
