I'm a worried soon to be mom

I am recently 16 weeks pregnant and I just found out I was pregnant at 15 weeks. I was going through depression 2 months before I found out I was and I had suicidal thoughts and I choked myself 4 times. I heard my baby's heart beat just yesterday and they said it sounded good, but I'm worried. I never knew I was pregnant, if I did I wouldn't have done what I did. Could anyone give me any answers on what could happen? /:

Were you ever admitted to a psychiatric facility for any of your suicide attempts? Depression with suicidal ideation is really dangerous, especially if you're pregnant. If the doctor said your baby is fine, then that's absolutely wonderful, but you ABSOLUTELY need to let the doc know about your attempts.  I don't condone anti depressants, especially not during pregnancy, but you may benefitfrom visiting an LPC.  Do it now, nip the issue in the butt before you end up with post partum depression after birth. You could end up hurting yourself *and* baby unintentionally.  I used to work at a psychiatric hospital and I just saw a lot of sad sad stories that could have potentially been happy ones had people let go of their pride & gotten the help they needed at the onset of symptoms.  I don't mean to be preachy, it just broke my heart when people came, said they didn't need help, left against medical advice and then I saw them on the news a day or two later.

Honestly finding out that I was pregnant changed my life for the better. It gave me a reason to live, I'm more than happy that I'm going to be a mom. But like I said I didn't know I was pregnant so at that time I didn't care about anything. I'm just worried about my baby's health.

You're still at a higher risk for post partum depression.  You still *need* to tell your doctor or midwife what you did.  Only your doctor will be able to assess the baby's health once he/she knows the full story.  If your doctor was fully informed of the possibility that you may have temporarily cut off oxygen to yourself and subsequently your child, and still said the baby was fine, then he/she probably is...
