I had sushi today. I just make sure it's cooked stuff. California rolls don't have any raw fish, and I got one with eel and avocado on the outside and a spider (deep fried softshell crab) roll. So good. :)

I understand that people use to eat whatever in the olden days....but they also smoked and drank before they discovered it was bad. Medical science has proven certain things Macy cause harm to your baby.....so why chance it? And I would hope that anyone that uses Google for pregnancy related questions would read peer reviewed journal articles or reliable data from the American Medical Board etc. And not just look at yahoo responses. In reality....this site is no different then yahoo answers or wikipedia since these are just people's opinions....and not coming directly from the patients physician that understands the individual medical history.

In the baby book I have it says that you can have seafood up to 2 times a week.. And it said to stay away from fresh water fish. You can only have fresh water fish once a month.

Girl boo...I've witnessed plenty of preggers including myself eating whatever seafood they/she wanted and turnt out just fine. Just don't turn to raw foods, make sure they are thoroughly cooked.Who wants some tasteless swordfish anyways. Not she! Lols! Fyi, Google isn't always accurate. Don't be no internet mommy...things on internet can be modified and not by professionals or practitioners. Think bout the golden olden days...they are every d@%$ thing and our ancestors were just as healthy. Get yo life pumpkin and enjoy it! :-)

Your suppose to stay away from seafood high in mercury like tuna, swordfish etc. Other seafood is fine as long as it's done in moderation. If you just Google seafood you can eat while pregnant it give you a list of all the ones that are ok and the ones not as well as how many ounces a week is safe.
