My little girl (past 3 weeks) slept for about that length of your just a little bit shorter.
But, now- she is waking every 3-4 hours for a feeding. I think your baby's sleep schedual is normal.
* The doc says wait until they are 4 months before you introduce them to baby cereal- but I think once the formula isnt cutting it no more, its time... What do you think?*
Oh and girls lookout for teething!! It throws us into sleep regression. We are back to being up every 1 hour to 2 hours a night on days when he is teething bad!
Well, Cash is a July baby, but I post here since I am friends with alot of you guys :-)
He was 4 months old on Sunday. He usually sleeps from 8:30 to 6:30 on a good night. Sometimes he will wake up about 2:00 and I'll have to soothe him to get him back to sleep. But no more night bottles so that's good! He just started on cereal, so that is alot of fun!! He is NOT a napper though. He will fall asleep on my chest and after about 15 - 20 minutes I will lay him down and I'm lucky if he sleeps any after that. I do the same thing at night and he settles right down when I lay him down.
Dani: My dr. told me Cash was an "active baby" too! He takes the little power naps and wakes up in the best mood so it must be all he needs. It would be better on mommy if he would nap longer though :-) so I could get stuff done!
He has five bottles a day of 6 oz each about 3 to 3 and a half hours apart and 2tbsp of cereal at night. I can't wait to start baby food, but he needs to practice with the cereal some more before we start that!
Alex goes to bed between 7-8pm, usually wakes between 1-3am to eat, then again at 6-7am to eat, back to sleep at 9am for an hour or so, he basically cat naps and eats all day on and off every 2hrs or so, then the same thing over again from 7-8pm...
Sleep? What sleep! Colter hardley naps during the day and is back to being up every 1-2 hours!! I am sooooo exhausted! He is considered an "active baby" so my dr. said....yeah, no kidding!
I am jealous! Cooper is still getting up 4 or more times a night (between about 10 and 6). I try to let him go back to sleep on his own, but it doesn't happen. He is my fourth baby and I am getting frustrated that he is not sleeping thru the night yet!! = (
BTW, my daycare provider puts him to sleep on his tummy (with my permission) and swears he sleeps like a champ. So last night I tried it, and he only got up twice. He can roll over, so I am pretty comfortable with this arrangement and I plan to continue putting him down this way. Hope it works...
dd is a bit younger than many of the aug babies- she's only 10 weeks so she still sleeps a lot. from around 8 or 9 pm to 7 am. She wakes to eat at least once btw 3 and 4 am, and often at 11 pm as well. This is new- up until a week or 2 ago, so was still up every 2 hrs. during the day, throughout the day she cat naps on and off frequently, and may take a big nap if she's on my chest. in the swing, she'll sleep up to an hour but usually less. i work on writing papers for school while my older one naps so i often leave the baby on my chest so that i can get work done. she also still has sleepy days like today- she was awake for maybe a total of 5 hours.
I feel like Taylor sleep all day long! She sleeps really well at night too. She wakes maybe once for a bottle and then is back to sleep. During the day she sleeps for long periods of time too. I dont keep track of the times or hours but I do know babies do tend to sleep alot in the begining. I know in about a year I will be praying for her to sleep more, lol!
I think that is a normal amount of sleep. In the sleep book i have been reading it said that they should sleep a out 15 hours in a day at this point. My little guy sleeps about 8-10 hours at night waking up once and then takes an hour nap in the morning and a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon. I think your little guy is normal.
