Joel Alexander arrived Tuesday

Well after going to the doctor last Thursday and having really high blood pressure the doctor told me to go on modified bed rest.  After being on bed rest all weekend we returned to the doctor on Monday and had even higher blood pressure.

She sent us straight over to L&D.  She told us that she would be over shortly to break my water to see if things would start on their own.   Well after waiting from 10 AM  to  5 PM she finally arrived and broke my water.  

After she broke the water I was having mild contractions but they were real erratic.  They then started Pitocin and then my contractions started getting more consistant.   I had heard stories from people that Pitocin makes your labor harder because you skip early labor and they get harder faster.  I honestly didn't think it was that bad.  I went from 7 to 1AM without an epiural.  I finally asked for my epidural and got it at 1 AM.  After that I progressed regularly and started pushing at 5 AM.  They had to use the vaccume after 1 1/2 hours of pushing because his head wasn't coming over the pelvic bone.  

Then we had a bit of a scare because we got one shoulder out and the other one got stuck.  It was so scary.  They were litterally jumping on my stomach to get him out.  I was so scared because I couldn't see what was going on and I thought that we might loose him.  He was fine though in the end.  He is nursing great and sleeping like a champ.

I guess that I forgot to put the weight and stuff.  Joel was 20 1/2 inches long.  He was 6 lbs 15 oz.   I guessed that I was going to have him July 25th.  I was 38 wks when I delivered.

Congrats!!  glad everything went well, although it sounds like itwas quite the ordeal to get him here!!  :)  hope everything continues to go well!!

Oh Man, that is one heck of a story. I am so glad the ending was a happy one!!! You will have one good story to tell little Joel when he gets older!!!

OMY Goodness! What a story! I am so happy Joel made it safely into the world in the end! I cant wait to see pictures:) How many weeks were you?? Oh and how much did your little man weight and so on.............? BTW what day did you guess you would have him?? I want to see how close everyone got:) Congrats hun!
