Yay! Our Babies have been "out" as long as they were "in"

I cannot believe our kiddos are already 9 months!!! Time is flying!!!!! I am loving every minute and Cruz is certainly keeping me on my toes!!!

Man, that boy loves to crawl everywhere! He is even standing while holding onto stuff. He loves to pull the remotes off the coffee table!!!! He is new thing is now if you say "yay" he will clap his hands, it is so cute!!!!

If it still was not a fight to get him to eat then all would be well!!!! Just curious what are you ladies feeding your babies now that they are 9 months? I am having a hard time working in table foods, he always seems to gag! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Before we know it they will be a year! This is just crazy to me!!!!

My little one still has NO teeth. But she's eating real food- including chicken, roast beef, pork tenderloin, etc... I just cut it into small pieces and she gobbles it up. She also loves those gerber puffs and cheese puffs, cheese, cheerios, pancakes, diced carrots, green beans cut small, etc... She will NOT touch any fruit or anything sweet. She will eat pureed peas and green beans and all the grain cereals. I asked the ped today about bottles, since she really prefers food. She said that at this point, it's ok that she takes food first and she didn't seem concerned about bottles. I thought that their main source of nutrition at this age was still supposed to be formula/breastmilk. It wasn't our regular ped though. She has her gastro appointment on Monday and her 9 month well check the following week with our regular ped, so I will ask both of them.

My first DD wasn't able to eat most table foods/finger foods until after 12 or 13 months old. Everything made her gag. But once she was able to, she became a great eater and still is to this day. So don't worry if your little one isn't ready yet. I figured this baby would be the same way as my first so I'm still surprised. In fact, today at lunch I had to turn her highchair away from her sister because she wouldn't eat what I had given her- she wanted her sister's food!

Other developments- she's started to stand independently- today for as long as a minute. She has a couple of simple words- she calls DH dada occasionally, and today when her sister and I yelled no-no when she was going for something she turned around and yelled it right back at us :) We also noticed yesterday and today that she has started to use the sign for "more" so I am going to introduce more signs. Usually if she wants more food she'll tell us "num-num" or sometimes just smack her lips. I think we FINALLY may have gotten the reflux meds right, and she's going 3-4 hrs without waking us. woo hoo.

Wow, jenkaye and kaprovea, you gals have some serious eaters! My pediatrician told us that 3 stage 2 jars and 24-28 oz of milk, so that is what we are trying to stick too. I give Cruz a little table food here and there but nothing like you guys!

By the way Tabby, it is another ear infection! : (

Joel eats a ton of food.  He is 9 1/2 months old and he eats whatever we are eating for dinner.  He no longer eats baby food but before we put him on table food he was eating a jar of fruit and veggies for lunch ... a jar of fruit veggies and meat for dinner and then cereal and a fruit for breakfast.  He has tried  alot of things:  toast, salmon, banana, apples, pears, grapes, strawberries, blueberries, chicken, pizza, pasta, mac n cheese, cheese, graham crackers, peas, corn, black beans and hamburger.  Thats all that I can think of.

Cooper eats about 5 stage jars of food, mostly homemade stuff, 24 ounces of formula, and we are trying to start table food.  When the doc told me to start table food at his 9 mo appt, I was like, "But he doesn't have any teeth!!"  She said, No matter, they just gum it anyway, so we have tried:  pancakes, scrambled eggs, french fries, mashed potatoes, diced pears, applesauce, bananas, crackers... The little chunker can't get enough to eat!!  LOL  He is up to 23 pounds 10 oz which is only 95%, but his length is off the charts! He's gonna be my linebacker. = )

No crawling or standing yet--he's not even able to go from tummy to sitting-- but I figure that's because of his size! No worries, he'll get there!!

Well sounds like Cruz is about normal compared to Taylor and Alex. He is eats about 24-28 oz of formula and 3 stage 2 jars and has puffs throughout the day. But it lately he does not want to eat anything again. I really hope it is not another ear infection he just finished his meds last week!

I am so glad to hear that everyones little ones are doing great!

As far as eating, Alex isn't a big eater yet either. He's still only eating 2 jars of the "2nd foods" each day... I have introduced some of the finger foods for babies to him like "puffs" and "yogurt melts", but he's just now starting to realize he can put them in his mouth instead of just picking them up and throwing them on the floor.... lol   oh well, he'll get there... im just glad the ear infections are gone! Now we're dealing with more than 4 teeth coming in at the same time.... yay, that's been fun! right....

Alex is starting to walk now... ugh, its not as exciting as you might think, with him being my 3rd baby i've learned that the sooner they're walking, the more work it is ... i'm having to baby gate everything already and i can't take my eye off him for a second!
but he's a joy all in all... just love him to pieces!

Hi Rachel! Great post! I cant believe it either! I love watching my princess grow:~)
As far as what she eats.................she has 4  5-6 oz bottles a day plus what ever I can push into her mouth. She has been refusing "baby food" the last few weeks in favor of anything she can self feed herself. Beans, rice, cereal, crackers and I have even started giving her bananas now that we have switched her formula. (Long story about that one, lol). I am very excited abouut her weight gain though. She wasnt eating a few weeks ago for about 5 days straight (hunger strike I think, lol). She was losing weight and weighed 16 lbs 14 oz. Well I broght her in on the 10th for her 9 month wellness check and she was 17 lbs 13 ozs!!!!!! So almost a full pound in 2 weeks!  And she is doing pretty good on the new formula too. A few blast thru pants but nothing too crazy. Fingers croosed, I would love to able to give her whole milk at a year old.
BTW- the gag refilx Cruz has should go away soon. The more he is introduced to solids the more used to them he will get. Start slow. It will take time but befor you know it he will be eating  the same thing you are. How does he do on step 2 baby foods????
