Trouble sleeping?

I sleep fine for 3-4 hours, then the need to pee wakes me up. After I go to the bathroom, I toss and turn for the rest of the night. I worked night shift for several years and I wonder if that is part of my problem.

Agree - my need to pee so many times in the night has tapered off. It was like 2-3 times in the 1st trimester but I am so exhuasted from waking up so many times I would sleep again. Now the only thing keeping me up is my pregnancy rashes!!! I wake up to scratch and scratch and then I end uphaving problems sleeping. So don think its your night rash. You just feel bugged about having to interrupt your sleep to pee (in my case, scratch) and then you just cant get back to your dreams!

I have the waking up every two to three hours to pee, but I have fibromalgia and when I get up to pee if I don't right back to sleep I start to hurt and then can't go to sleep. But I have found the further along I get the more peeing I do.

luckily my peeing through the night has tapered off. Iwas getting up every two to three hours to pee but lately its only been once and sometimes not at all. I am also having trouble with my bed being uncomfortable and causing my back to be out of whack. I have been sleeping on the couch for the past 4 weeks because its the only comfortable place I for me, but poor hubby has been sleeping alone. I went out today and bought a new mattress with a really fluffy pillowtop...I hope this works..it will be here tonight Im so excited to be back in a bed.

Thanks, I feel better. It sounds like it might just be a phase. I can't remember my other pregnancies giving me this trouble, but it's been awhile so my memory might be fading.

Me too, I'm waking up alot. Like in the early weeks of pregnancy, this bathroom thing at night is out of control! The last two nights thank god I only got up once or twice, but the last week before it was like 5 times. I also moved to Europe in that time so was having sleep problems anyways.  I thought I was past this.  When the baby gets bigger I am afraid it's going to be even worse because of the pressure on the bladder. I was already a frequent bathroom goer before!

The night shift work might not have anything to do with it, I don't know.   I've read you can try to cut down fluid in take at night (which of course seems to be when I'm most thirsty!).  Also, I am trying to Not turn the bathroom light on when I go because I think that wakes me up more.  Use a nightlight or if there is enough window light that's okay.

A couple years ago I read that the using the bathroom light so fast also makes some hormone levels in your body change (unrelated to pregnancy.)

You are not alone for sure!

I wake up to use the bathroom about 2x/night, but I'm still dead tired all of the time.  My days off, I always end up napping at least once and still fall asleep at 9:30 or so.  I'm a nurse and work 12 hr shifts, so I'm really tired on days I work.  I'm 14 wks and hoping to get more energy soon.

I'm not having a problem getting back to sleep, but it's crazy how many times I have to get up to pee at night!!! If I sleep for 3 hours straight these days, I'm doing great. I'm a little past 15 wks.

Awhile back, I did have unexplained trouble sleeping, though. And I generally sleep like a rock. Maybe it's a phase in pregnancy - I hope you both pass out of the phase soon!
