i bought some red raspberry leaf tea at the health food store the other day and have been drinking it everyday once a day and wether or not it works on helping me go into labor or making labor easier, it tastes really good. i just add some honey and drink it hot. it helps me and my body to relax and it tastes great. i have contractions everyday almost. intense painful contractions. i have 4 doctors and therefore 4 due dates. one dr says the 30th, one says the 10th, one says the 8th, and the other says the 16th. imagine being in my position. the 30th was the first date they gave me and have been bouncing around the month since january. my baby is alive, healthy, and kicking me... right now as a matter of fact. i and my drs believe i just need a little push and it'll happen. whether or not it works, its good for me, it's caffiene free (a break from sprite, root beer, sierra mist, and flavored water), and the honey is really good for me and my baby. if it works great! if not i don't feel i'm rushing my baby. my dr was the one who told nme about the tea in the first place. i'll keep you guys updated.
Dont rush your babies, you may end up giving yourself a heartbreak if they have complications and have to stay in the hospital and you get to go home by yourself. Its heartwrenching to have to leave without your baby, trust me I had to leave mine behind and it was for a whole month. this was my son who is now two but i remember it just the same. Please be careful . when the baby is ready they'll come or the doc will help.
I have had some sort of tea w/ raspberry leaves in it with my first pregnancy and I did notice more contractions than usual, but not enough to put me into labor. This was before 36 weeks though and I didn't realize until after I drank it a couple ot times that it might put me into labor. Maybe the stuff I drank didn'lt have enough in it or it was too early. I never drank it again after that. I think I still have some. I'll try it and let you know!
There are so many things that they say 'might' , 'can' etc start labour but I dont think anything has been proven yet. Although I am at the same point you seem to be at...I just want him out!! They did do some studies on women living in Holland who eat a lot of licorice and apparently the majority of them have premature babies (by that they mean sometime after 34 weeks and before 37 weeks), which they attributed to the licorice root extract. So maybe you can try eating licorice??
Let us know if the raspeberry leaf tea works...if it does I'm gonna go out and buy some asap!
i have never tried it but i have heard of it and i am thinking of taking it, i just dont know when to start having it.
