Can't get codeine here without a prescription. I'll see if I can get one if you think it would help though.
yep. codeine's good but only take it when the pain's so bad you can't handle it because codeine makes baby sleepy. And definitely do not evertake more than the recommended dose. best of luck
be sure to follow the dosing on the bottle of tylenol, unless a doctor specifically tells you to take more. Like Kage said, too much tylenol can do some serious damage. DH is a pharmacist and he is always very careful about how much tylenol we take.
I -am- around the end of the second trimester...I would totally do the 3 or 4 tylenol thing, but I'm already taking the extra strength kind, and if I took 3 or 4 of those daily I'd have liver failure by the end of the month. Caffeine does seem to work...it's just that the side effects are non-sparkly...apparently I've hyper-sensitized what with the pregnancy and the drop in tolerance, 20mg is enpugh to give me trouble sleeping.
Tylenol has worked pretty well for me, granted I take 3 or 4 of them, but they usually do
the trick. Caffeine (iced coffee is my poison) sometimes works, too.
Good luck! Hopefully headaches are something that will stop on or around the end of the first trimester for you.
I am pregnant...it says male because I am a pre-op, pre-hormone transsexual. We'll see if sleep helps as I am on break this week, but I don't have high hopes. The doctors actually said caffeine could help...I'm just twitchy about it.
Er.. Oh! Sorry, I assumed you were talking about pregnancy headaches as it is the Pregnancy August Babies community but I just realised that you are male so probably not pregnant! Though I do still suggest making sure you drink lots of water and get plenty of sleep! :)
Hi
I can't give you any advice on this as yet but you are not alone!! I have never been a massive sufferer of headaches but I'm in my 15th week and have been experiencing constant headaches for a few weeks now. I get them more when I'm tired but this is a hell of alot at the minute! Plenty of sleep does seem to help but apart from that I just take normal pain killers, but I've never liked taking lots of tablets. With the caffiene overdose I can relate too! I have always drunk ridICUlous amounts of the stuff but obviously now I am trying to drink more water and fruit juices. So all I can suggest is plenty of sleep and plenty of fluids without caffiene, make sure you don't get dehydrated!
