my girlfriend was 2cm dialeted at 36 weeks and she was induce at 41 :) so i think that doesnt have to mean that you will go early but i dont know.
good luck
I don't think it's really an indication of much. I wasn't dilated at all one week, the next I was 2 cm, and four days later I had my daughter. Totally opposite with my son...I wasn't dilated at all and that night my water broke and I had him that day. Just the pressure of the baby's head can dilate you a little...what's important is the effacement, I believe.

Thanks ladies...I will see the dr next week and we will see if I am dialated any further. thanks again
Woo whoo!! Sounds promising:) I have to say that im already 1 cm also and I cant see myself going early:( I was 1 cm with my last son from about 27-28 weeks and he came right on time (1 week early according to LMP) Every woman is diffrent though, I just wouldnt be expecting to go early because you could be very dissappointed. But then again maybe you will go early:) I will keep my fingers crossed for you to go a little early if you will do the same for me, lol!
when does the dr start checking if you dialated???
Well since this is my 3rd baby she checked me at my visit yesterday. I will be 3 weeks on friday. Also my baby is a bit big so I think that had something to do with it. But If I remember correctly the dr starts to check when you start to see him/her every week.
I'm 1cm dialated already as well. You can stay that way for months. My ob doesn't start checking on a regular basis until 36 weeks when your weekly appointments start.
With my DD I was dialated at 1 cm when I was about 35+ weeks. Around 37+ weeks it was 2 cm. My daughter came at 38w+3d.
