pregnant and heavily bleeding

Hello,
I am 27 years, and im 5 weeks pregnant, my first time. There are more than one week i have low abdominal cramps, and today the cramps are very strong and i am bleeding as it was a period. I went to the midwife she said they could not check me out till friday ( i have to wait other 2 days) when i have the meeting with the doctor. I am heavily bleeding like a period,,,she said could be a miscarriage. Why does this happen? Can it happen from being too stressed? Or is it normal to bleed in the first weeks? To mention it is not spoting, it is like a period alot of blood and horrible cramps. I have to wait till friday...is it dangerous if it is a miscarriage going on?
Any help is very much appreciated.
thank you

im very scared coz the pain is very strong on the left side. Has it happened to any of you? Will it go away? I am so scared coz they said if the pain continues i have to go again. I hope the pain goes away. Is it safe that i am bleeding and they did not do anything. I mean the pain and bleeding they said u r miscarring and normally they should go away if God wants for me to be safe and healthy.
Thank you

I have been 4 hours in emergency room. They performed a pelvic examination, an ultrasound but nothing was seem inside. After doing a urine test and blood test the doctor said there is no pregnancy hormone anymore. so i am miscarring the baby. She said i will continue to bleed some other days and the cramps should stop in a week.
I am worried alot coz the pains are very strong in the lower abdomen and lower back and when she touched my lower abdomen it hurted alot, and still does. So i dont know what to expect. Have you girls ever had a miscarriage? She gave me nothing, said that the.bleeding will continue for some days and the pains should decrease. I am so scared the pains will continue as it is very strong.

Any suggestion how to go on and what to do to decrease the pain is very much appreciated.

I am sorry that you have to go through this:( Unfortunatly if it is a m/c that is happening, there is nothing you can do:( I would just lay around for a while with your legs up if you can. If cramping or bleeding gets worse I would go to the ER instead of waiting for your appointment on friday. Best of luck. BTW some woman bleed during pregnancy and it can be normal. I hope they rule out m/c and you get to hold your little one at the end of your journey:)

I forgot to mention that after sex i took morning after pill but again got pregnant. I was reading the signs that i have like strong abdominal pains and intense vaginal bleeding care signs of ectopic pregnancy caused by morning after pill. I hope God it is not ectopic pregnancy because it can risk my life and never become a mother.
I am so stressed that i can not do anything.
