Hey Everyone, My name is Dawn. I am 29 years old, I have one son (Vincent 16months old) and currently pregnant with number two (hopefully our girl but over all happy with either or as long as the baby is healthy)! This will be another August baby for us! I have not seen a doctor yet to know exact due date but it looks like August 12th ....which was my son's due date too. I live in the United States (Illinois)

Hi. I'm 25 and this is my 3rd pregnancy. First one I miscarried and second one is my now 3 yr old son. I am 6 weeks 6 days tomorrow and hoping to see the heartbeat when I go to my doc appt. A little worried since the only sympyoms I've had are sore breasts and wanting to eat everything all the time lol. My boyfriend has 3 kids and I have one, so combined, this makes #5! Little stressed already but trying not to worry too much.

I'm a 32 year old mom in Tennessee.  This is my third pregnancy. I have two boys ages 4 and 9. My due date is August 5th. I'm 6 weeks today and the morning sickness has already set in.  We've been "not preventing,  but not really trying either" for about 10 months.

I'm 25 my wife is 22. We have been married six years and  are expecting 8/6/14. She is entering the sixth week now so there isn't a lot going on yet. She is feeling some  of the typical symptoms so far and luckily hasn't been sick.

Hello all! I am 28 and this is my second pregnancy. My husband and I have a 14 month old. This pregnancy is a bit different, however, as this bundle-of-joy isn't my husband's baby!---lol before you get all "say whaa" on me, I should further add that it's not my baby, either!
My best friend is unable to carry a pregnancy, so I offered to be a gestational surrogate for her and her fiance. They transferred 2 embryos on Dec. 1st, and I got a positive test on the 6th! I've been tracking every morning and that line seems to be getting darker. Now it's the wait to see if it's a singleton or twins!

Hey acgalvin, they say a miscarriage is usually a 1/5 chance but everyone's different so it's hard to tell.

I did have a miscarriage at around 8 weeks once and usually in most cases people seem to have them between 6 - 11 weeks. Usually if you hit week 12 you should be past the 'danger zone'.

Usually when you see brown spotting when you wipe it can indicate that you might be about to miscarry. If this happens, Lie down, do not do much physical activity. However mentally prepare yourself.

Many woman bleed or spot at the start and sometimes throughout, so bleeding does not necessarily mean you will MC. If it's brown and not red, is more worrysome, however it does not mean anything. Just is the most common sign. Try not to panic though, as stress is really not good on the baby. So really try not to think of it too much, you're only stressing yourself for nothing. If it happens, and you get bad cramps and heavy bleeding, go to an ER unless you feel you can deal with it privately.

however if you decide not to go to the ER, I was told by nurses that you need to watch for the placenta. Because if it doesn't come out, you will need a D and C.

I hope that helps. I did a lot of reading on the matter when I had seen the brown blood and after my loss. It was my way of coping with it by talking to others who had been through it too.

Just stay positive, eat well, and be happy, don't stress on the 'what if's ' that may never come!

I hate to bring it up but as it is my first go around... how common are miscarriages and how will I know if it happens? Are their signs or can it go unnoticed?
