I had it my on all 4 of my deliveries. The pain was too much for me. I regret it because I have really bad back pain from that. My oldest is 15 and youngest is 9 my back still hurts to this day. I am 34 weeks pregnant and im going to do my best to go without it this time, but Idk im such a chicken for pain lol. If you can handle the pain its best you dont get it.
Had it with my daughter and it was great. I got pitocin and the contractions felt like death. The epidural made me completely numb and comfortable. I told the doctor it felt like a hot tub in my body!! I guess I moved around too much though because it did fall out before the pushing stage and the doctors didn't notice untell my baby was out. So felt all the pain with pushing her out... I will be requesting a epidural for this baby too!
I had it twice and gonna do it again was the BEST MEDS EVER!!!
I loved it and will get it again but I do have to warn you that you can't move around. The nurses never told me that I figured since it was taped all over sitting up and laying down wouldn't be so bad but it caused it to shift and then lose its effectiveness. I had a lot of sensitivity in my back for a couple months after but it was worth it to have those hours of relief during labor.
I had it twice and my back always hurt ...
Especially on cold weather I get sharp pain ...
This time am not takin it ...
I had the epidural with my first 4 years ago and I was on cloud 9 best drug ever!!! Yeah there are side effects and you have to sign a waiver but it was worth it for me because I had an almost 8 pounder who ripped me from the rooter to the Tooter lol. Good luck to you ask your ob for advice on what's best for you.
I had the shakes for a while until it wore off. And I got sharp pain in my back off and on for maybe 3 week
