about SCAN...?

Hi all.. I'm 6 weeks pregnant and my doctor asked to come for an usg pelvic scan by 8th week...  I need to know the purpose of the scan and also whether it is abdominal ultrasound or vaginal ultrasound...??

They did mine with the over the belly ultra sound at 6weeks...She said of they couldn't see anything they would try the vaginal way...but luckily they could see baby over the tummy. ..I would ask!

Usually vaginal apparently. ..i have my scab today but i think im 7wks max.. its to check if theres a baby in the sac and a heartbeat...or something like that
