I am due in 6 weeks. With all this media hype I am scared to death about contracting the H1n1 virus. They are making it sound like if you are pregnant and get it, that you are doomed.
So I was just wondering if anyone here has had it, and made it through okay? If so, did you have Tamiflu or not?
My sons and husband had the H1n1 last week, and I called my Dr right away and got on Tamiflu, which prevented me from getting sick at all. Trust me, I was very unsure about taking the Tamiflu, but I felt it was better than ending up very sick or dead. I still worry about what adverse effects the drug might have on my unborn baby. Anyway, we made it through the difficult week okay, but now I find out that since I never showed any symptoms, that I have no immunity to the virus and could end up sick again. If that happens, then I will have to take Tamiflu AGAIN, that is, if they will even give me more and if its even available at that point with the way it has been flying off of the shelves in the pharmacies around here.
I am just scared and shaken up and its controlling my life and stressing me out. Does anyone else feel this way? About the vaccine, I am not even sure I want it, and even if I decided that I do, no one around here has it yet.
So, basically my question is, has anyone here survived the H1n1 virus without serious complications??
Thanks for your input!
