My bp went down quite a bit at first. It has helped with the swelling. Yes at first I thought I was putting on weight and my doctor was like woah what are you eating...until he saw my feet and legs. They were terribly swollen I couldn't even wear shoes, I had to go buy some 2 sizes too big. The swelling did contribute to me thinking I was just eating too much. You might not need bedrest but staying off work at home and keeping my feet elevated has helped me so much. I went to the doctor thursday and my bp was back to 167/98 plus my swelling has come back even staying off my feet. I will go back Thursday to check my bp and swelling and if it is still high I will have to be induced early according to my OB.
How was your bp at the appt.?
Same boat here but I really don't know what to do. My doc thinking about early c section.
Thanks for responding. So has the pressure gown down now that you were on bedrest? I also have noticed on the days I stay in bed all day there is absolutley no swelling. Just curious were you also putting on a lot of weight and could that just have been fluid? Because I have gained a lot of weight in two weeks which Monday was last appointment I was 218 and previous app I was 207. A lot right. So my final thing is could I just need bedrest? Going in today for NSTs will see what pressure is stayed in bed all day yesterday.
I have been having the same problem. No protein in urine and no preeclampsia. My blood pressure has been really high though. I had to get put on maternity leave at like 27 weeks because of swelling. I look like I have elephant feet if I walk around for an hour. Also my first week of maternity leave I lost 12 pounds of fluid.
have you been tested for Gestational hypertension: This form of high blood pressure develops after the 20th week of pregnancy and goes away after delivery. Affected women do not have protein in the urine. However, some women with gestational hypertension develop preeclampsia later in pregnancy.
