I made an appointment with the doctor without telling them why I wanted to be seen (we have a lot of family that work at the hospital and I don't want it gossiped around there).  My normal doctor told me you don't actually have to say why you want to be seen, you can just say that you need to talk to the doctor. I just said it was for a followup to a previous appointment.  I was shooting for an appointment around the 6 week mark, but they scheduled me for next Tues (I'll be 5ish weeks then). You could always say that you thought you had a yeast infection, they'd probably get you in then. If you can't get in to an OB or midwife, your regular doctor should be able to do the blood work to confirm and then refer you on, if they don't deliver babies. Good luck!   :)

I go to my first appointment at 5 week 2 day mark. I would want to see my doctor before my first trimester was over... seems a little strange to be told to wait that long when some women don't even know how far along they are.

If you're worried about it then go to a health department to find out for sure. Just don't tell them you've taken a test. Just tell them you think you're pregnant and want to get a blood test done to make sure. With my first it never showed on urine test this time it showed. But I've not heard of many people having false negatives.  Was the tests all in date?

They did a nurse visit at 8 weeks with my first and doing the same this time. And then a regular exam at 12 weeks. They don't schedule anything before 8 weeks.
