Trouble Sleeping... Anyone else?

I am having trouble sleeping at night. I know this is common but I was wondering who else is struggling and what is helping... For me I take a warm bath at night before bed and have a small bowl of cereal with milk. It has been working okay, but I am still uncomfortable. I ave tried the pillow between the legs, but that is still uncomfortable. Any suggestions? Also my hips are getting really sore at night and I find myself having to turn from side to side frequently to relieve the pain. Anyoe else experiencing this. I am thinking it is from 2 things: the cerclage is causing my body to redistribute the extra weight, and being on bedrest for most of the pregnancy might be having an effect as well...

Ha! That's funny cause I slept in a recliner almost my entire pregnancy with my son 14yrs ago! I'm sure I would this time too if I had one now. Yeah, I can't sleep either due to peeing, anxiety of nesting and wanting to have my house prepared or just uncomfortableness with some nights of really bad back pain too!

Yup, I am there too ladies.  I wake up to pee about 2-3 times in the middle of the night...and it feels like I just got hit by a truck...I can barely walk!!  I do sleep with a body pillow, my husband calls it my boyfriend, it lays between my legs, and I kind of hug it to sleep.  ahah...I do however always end up on my back when I wake up, and the pillow is just next too me.  I get really hot when I sleep as well....

A friend of mine slept on a recliner the last 6 weeks!!

Hi,

Yeah, me too.  I think its normal at this time of pregnancy.
My low back is also very painful and I have to be careful rolling over to avoid making it worse. When I roll over I have to make sure I keep my knees bent and together, and move smoothly.

Ha, yes, I also limp to the toilet when I wake up in the middle of the night.

I have a regular pillow that I place where I can rest one leg on it and a little squishy peanut pillow under my belly.  They move, but better than nothing.  haven't looked at a special pillow yet...

I've worked out if I wake in the middle of the night and can't sleep again for hours, I need a snack...

agomez, I think the problem is probably pregnancy combined with the extended bed rest.  Don't think the cerclage would have anything to do with it.

3 months to go ladies, hang in there.

I too have tried the body pillow and evrytime i wake its not with me lol.... I am thinkin about getting the pillow with the cut out for the belly so i can try to lay on my tummy......

I am up every hour.  Sometimes to pee, sometimes because I'm hot, sometimes for no reason!  I also wake up every morning with stiff legs and I practicly limp to the bathroom because my back hurts so much.  I recently got a body pillow which I try and keep between my legs, but by the time I wake up I never have it.  I think not sleeping is just a weird way of preparing us for how it will be the rest of our lives! LOL.  Seriously though, you're not the only one.  My husband brags that he sleeps so good now that it is getting cooler outside, then I remind him I get horrible sleep no matter type of weather we have.  It's weird though, because with the time change I'm actually getting up earlier than usual - which is odd because I usually have a really hard time getting up in the mornings.
