Gas or Colic?

My son is 5 weeks old.  He just started to scream at night for several hours.  Nothing soothes him. I've tried the 5 "s", bath, car rides. etc. His feet are going and screaming a high pitch sound when I try the bicycle movements.  Is this gas or colic?
Also, when he eats he ***** so hard and fast it cause him to scream with gas. During the day he stops screaming after burping but NOT at night.  I use the vent-air bottles (supposed to stop gas).  I also just (yesterday) changed formula to gentle-ease by enfamil.  How long do I wait before I say this formula is not the right one for him..
So many questions, so frustrated! thanks for any advice you can give!!!!!

I would consult his pediatrician. They should be able to give you some advice.
