Swollen

I was on my feet most of the day yesterday, busy, and probably drank less water then I was used to....but last night when I finally got home to relax around 10PM....after starting teaching around 0800am...then going out with my class for dinner (Yumm..real Italian food here in NY)...anywho, the point is my legs were so swollen..huge!!  I could barely bend my legs at the knee...it was very uncomfortable....after I woke up this morning is was a lot better...but wow!!  I thought I had gained about 5 lbs in my legs!!  Not a good feeling.....Has anyone had swelling problems??

I swell up badly with my hands too. I end up having trouble touching my fingers to my palms...

I am also having problems with swelling. I find that when it happens (after little or no excrcise) I also feel as though I am dizzy, sometimes breathless and want to sit or lay down.

Make sure you mention it to your doctor, as swelling is one of the signs of high blood pressure/pre ecclampsia. I had high blood pressure with my first pregnancy and also experienced swelling then. They are currently monitoring me for it again as I fall into a high risk category and it develops sometime after 24 weeks.

They will check your blood pressure and test for protein in your urine. They also may blood test you.

Oh yes.  Am swelling now.
Put your feet up as much as possible and drink a lot of water.
I've just bought some compression stockings.  They helped a lot and I could actually see I have ankles.
My OBE reassured me this is a normal part of pregnancy.  But do keep an eye on it.
