Yea if the bath doesn't work, they say try drinking a HUGE glass of water and lying down for one hour. If the contractions dont subside than their the real thing!
So just remember your water doesn't have to break in order to be in labor so if the water trick doesn't work...I would think about going in and getting looked at. It can't hurt...and if for some reason your water is leaking...your baby is prone to infection...and you dont want that, so better be safe than sorry!
Good Luck with everything!
Yeah my appointment was 2 weeks ago cause I was 35 weeks then. I felt her drop when she did. They still had me go another 2 weeks till they say me again. But after this one that I have this week they will be 1 weekers. I was also told by my husband brothers girlfriend who had her girl 2 weeks ago that if I take a warm bath that if they go away that they are BH but I told her that they dont. That sometimes I get em in the bath or shower. Thanks for the advice. Me and husband both think that she is gonna come early but im also no due till feb. 5th or 10th.
Yea it sounds to me like your baby is facing the opposite way. I just took my birthing class yesterday and we went over this a lot. Usually when you feel pain in your back or butt its a sign of back labor. And it does sound like you are having contractions...if they are less than 5 minutes apart I would get to your doctors or hospital immediately.
And you said your appointment was a couple weeks ago? But your baby can drop in a matter of hours! So I'm sure a lot has changed since your last appointment. Aren't you seeing your doctor every week now? I would definitely bring this to his or her attention. But keep an eye on your contractions and start timing them...because your water doesnt have to break first...so if they are getting closer together and becoming stronger you need to get to the hospital! Sounds like your baby is getting ready! Good Luck!!
Thanks. I got up this morning and the cramps where more often than they have been but the pain is all the same.
When you talk about your butt bone being sore, it reminds me of myself and my baby was "sunny side-up." Her face was facing the ceiling. Some babies present in this position. They should be turned the other way, with their face pointing towards your back. Labor was a little harder for me since my daughter was facing in that position and the largest part of her head was trying to come through the birth canal. Everything worked out fine, so not to worry.
Most babies will flip to the proper position just before birth and right when you go into labor. Your back pain does sound familiar, Especially you saying how sore you are in your butt bone.
The tingling in your hands is most likely due to the baby sitting on a nerve. I am sure there are plenty of mother's here that can attest to the same feelings. It's nothing to worry about and will disappear when the baby is born.
By everything you are saying, your body is getting ready for labor. Our moods change, our bodies change...all in preparation for birth, which is a pretty big deal.
Try to get a little extra rest, drink plenty of fluids and lie on your side when you lay down. Preferably on your left side. It gives more oxygen to the baby they say. Keep a close watch for any changes in your contraction patterns and be prepared for the baby to flip if they are sunny side-up. The baby may change over to their back facing your belly. You will notice this change immediately. You can feel it.
The old wives tales say to get on the bed on your hands and knees and rock back and forth, gently They say this encourages the baby to flip to the right position. I was told to do this through my labor, to encourage the baby to flip to the face down position. Near the very end of labor, she finally came with her head facing downward, which helped me get her out in one push. The little stinker.
You are considered at term when you are 38 weeks and it sounds like your baby will soon make their appearance. Take care of yourself and pamper yourself. You deserve it.
All the Best,
Heather
