fetal doppler safty
i brought a doppler on ebay called life sounds fetal doppler i just got it today, i read the booklet that comes with it and it said it uses ultrasound waves to find the hartbeat, just wonderd if this was safe to use or not?
How far along were you when you could pick up the hb? I am 14 weeks tomorrow, and thinking about borrowing my SIL's.
I bought an Angel sounds from amazon and there was a warning inside that said although US has been used for years without any ill effects, restrict examinations to ten minutes as it could damage fetal tissue.
It did not stop me using it every days for the first week to show family and friends. Then I used it every other day when I didn;t feel movement. Now I can leave it a whole week ;)unless I haven't felt the babies moving for two days.
I literally find them, breathe easy and switch it off.
I have been cautious but I am very confident that US does not harm the baby, they have to produce a warning because the professionals don't use US on us everyday do they? A normal pregnancy possible only gets scanned 2-3 times. Over 30 years of US use is enough evidence for me and I went for my 20 week scan today and all is well so I haven't damaged my babies by using it.
Try not to get addicted to it, I know it's hard....but it has certainly minimised my stress so far which is far more healthier for my babies x
