quick update

Ok so I had to have an emergency cerclage placed yesterday. I am a little sore but not bad. I am on bed rest till further notice. I was sent straight to a high risk Dr on Monday when I told my OB what was going on and the procedure was perfomed by the high risk dr. I see him Tuesday for a follow up to see if this is helping to stop the funneling and shortening. I will then see him every two weeks till I deliver along with my regular OB visits. So I am happy that this will be closely monitored. I was also told that if we decide to have another baby after this I will need a cerclage by 12 weeks.
I am so grateful for the fact we caught this or the Dr said I would have lost this pregnancy. I am not happy with my OB for not catching this though. With my last m/c I was 14 weeks, and I mentined an incompetent cervix and he dismissed it without further investigation into it. That is probably why I lost the last baby.  : (  So I will not be staying with my current OB. I am sad, but I have to be in good hands for my baby!
Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts!

Glad to read that things are on the positive right now. You definitely need to switch OB's as soon as you can. I know when I went to the specialist about my m/c he listened to my families history extensively and even considered starting my on heparin because of a clotting disorder that my sister has (I have tested negative). He left the decision up to me which I chose not to do but at least he was willing to go that far when I think most doctors would of been more of the opinion they couldn't find anything wrong so there is nothing to try even. I am praying for you and thinking about you everyday!!!! On a truly selfish note am glad to have someone else who is stuck in bed too (LOL), just wish I had a laptop so I could be on here all day to chat with everyone. Keeep us posted on how it all goes - I am glad that caught it and interevened and everything will work out from here!!!! Good luck & god bless - give that u/s tech a great big hug the next time you see him!!!!!!!!!

So many people have been praying for you.  Including me.  I am so thankful that they caught this early...all because your friend wanted to do a "for fun" ultrasound, as a little present for you.  That friend of yours, deserves the biggest hug and praise.  They actually saved your baby's life.  I think if it were me, I would never be able to thank them enough.

God put you in the right place at the right time and because of that, I am sure you can look forward to a glorious baby at the end of all this drama.  What sheer joy.  I am so happy for you.

Do what the doctor says and get some rest.  Also rest that mind of yours little mommie.  Everything is going to be great from here on out.  As for your other OB, I don't think I am allowed to write what I really think about him.  It's definitely a case of medical malpractice.

Keep up the great work little mommie.  We are all so happy for you.
