Can I stay??

Well ladies, as you know I had a scare over the weekend, I had some spotting and they did an US in the ER and although blood work was good they US showed only a gestational sac, NO yolk sac, NO fetal pole, and NO heart beat...
My Dr. called me in for an appt today to do more blood work. They also did a t/v us when I got there, and just a sac... she was not hopeful. She said with my levels she would have liked to see a h/b by now, and there was still ONLY a gestational sac... she drew more blood and then decided to send me for a higher resulution us this afternoon. She said if they didn't see anything and the bloodwork did not look good she would schedule a DNC. If they didn't see anything and the bloodwork was ok we would do another us in 10 days. I left in tears.
I got to the us place today crying. The abdominal us showed VERY little, but then, there on the screen during the trans vag... a HEART BEAT!!!! YOLK SAC, FETAL POLE, HEART BEAT all right there!! I couldnt believe it!!!! It was Amazing!!! They dated me at only 5 weeks 2 days via us, but said that was ok cause I have a week of error and my lmp was 5/27/09... so now they are giving me an EDD of 3/4/10... Soooooooo
Can I still hang with you Feb girls??? (I always deliver early anyway) or y'all gonna boot me over to the March group?? LOL!

I'm sooo happy for you!  Congrats on getting to see the heart beat!

On a side note, I'm sorry to vent, but... I am a sonographer and it drives me absolutely CRAZY when I hear (and see) what sooooo many women have to go through!  So many of these "scares" happen because some doc attempts an u/s on a poor-resolution machine in her office (for the convenience of the pt).  ER docs do the same thing.  It's not "convenient" (or fair) to put an expectant mom (and her loved ones) under such emotional stress and turmoil.  ALL ultrasounds should ALWAYS be done by GREAT techs that do this kind of ultrasound exam ALL the time, using only high-quality equipment.  It just drives me mad that poor Niki (and sooo many others) had to go through something so horrifying that could (potentially) have been prevented!  *Sorry!

Back to what really matters.. CONGRATS again, Niki!
