Pets at Home; POLL Nov 3-7

I chose to post this as a question and not a poll because it not really a question that you can choose a single answer to....

How many and what kind of pets do you have at home, and have they been acting strange?

(Thanks for the question Nikko!)

I kept my cats out of the crib this way:  keep a spray bottle of water handy by the crib and fill it with plain water. everytime the cat gets in the crib, spritz the kitty with the water and he will learn NOT to go in there. my cat learned very fast, 3-4 times and he did not go near the crib again. of course when baby came home she slept with me and kitty anyhow. lol

I have 2 mini-dogs and 3 cats.  The dogs are actually very possessive of me and fight with eachother over who gets my attention.  Great fun separating fighting dogs and staunching blood!  They won't leave me alone and follow me everywhere and demand attention ALL the time.

Pea, my male maltese will not allow anyone to touch me.  He goes bananas.... he doesn't bite but he grabs the offending hand and pushes it away, all t he time crying and yelping.

One of the cats is more affectionate than ever.  That's Daisy. She always sleeps at my back now and cries to come into the bedroom if I lock her out.  The other 2 cats are clueless... though 1 is just a kitten and I don't really expect her to know anything...

Yeah, the dogs and one of the cats sleep with me. It's gonna be kind of hard to banish them after they've been sleeping with me for 10  years... their whole lives... Gotta to work out what happens with baby.  Have a separate bed for baby. Can't let animals and baby together.... Will see what works, I guess.

I have 2 Chihuahuas. Buc and Lily. They have both become more affectionate towards me and follow me everywhere in the house...more than usual. And just last night they almost got into a scrap because they both wanted to lay by me, but didn't want the other there. It's so cute!!! Buc even rubs his little head on my tummy sometimes!

We have 3 cats and the oldest, Harvey, whom has always been very loving, is constantly wanting to be near me or laying on me.  He's become more needy than ever!

Daisy is her usual self, independent, playful, and sweet.

Her sister Annabelle, whom is usually MIA, is out and about more often and now is less skiddish.  For whatever reason, at around 2am (my usual time to up to wake up and use the bathroom) Annabelle gets up and greets me when I return to bed.  She's very loving and wants affection.  But during the day, she is not like that. Go figure!

I have 4 dogs, 2 cats, a handful of fish, and a leopard gecko. Our dogs seem to be pretty normal, but my cats are both acting strange. One is normally very loving, but seems to be even more so now. He follows me from one room to the other, sleeps where I do, and just plain acts odd. The other cat, also male, is normally anti-social, but has been acting quite the opposite. Him and the other cat are both fighting over who gets to lay where and who gets to touch me, etc. Sometimes they even get into a little scrap over it. Nothing serious and it usually resolves when I tell them to stop and scoop one or the other up and let the other stay where he wanted and put the other in a different place. It is definitely a bit strange. I have noticed that my dogs all over 85 lbs haven't been jumping up on my recently either. I am glad 'cause every time one comes near, I'm a bit scared they may knock me over.

I have 3 cats, and 2 dogs.  Everyone has been acting pretty normal except for one cat.  This one cat, Ike, usually is pretty independant, not a cuddler.  In the last couple of weeks this cat is always laying with me, snuggling up and laying on my belly......

interesting how animals seem to sense that something is happening.....
