I asked for an internal check at my last appointment because of all the BH's that I have been having. They didn't mind. I told them it would give me some peace of mind. It really didn't because they said that I was 2 cm dilated. I was 34 weeks at that exam, but also had a u/s to see if placenta had moved. Doc says baby is measuring a week or two early. My next appt is the 17th and I'll be 36 weeks. If this baby doesn't come before then, I will definitely ask that they check me again.
My doctor doesn't even do an internal check until the 37 week check up...and that isn't until the 17th for me! When I went in this week he told me the baby hasn't dropped yet. I was SURE that he had...just from the pain in my hips and the pressure on my pelvis. I can't imagine it getting worse than this...my daughter was breech and I never had the pain I am having with this one!
Congratulations, I bet it feels good to have some progress under your belt!! I was checked at 35 weeks and all they said was that my cervix was softening.... no other news :( I will be checked next Thursday and I am hoping for something good!
37 weeks is full term. I think they say that is when the baby is fully developed! Good Luck on that new years baby!!!! :)
is 36 or 37 weeks considered full term?? Just wondering everyone says they think I will hatch early (cuz I'm huge)and hope I have the new years baby (a big deal in my community u get all kinds of free stuff and ur pic in the paper)
Hey Emmylou, I just posted a few moments ago. I am 2 cm dilated, but didn't say anything about effacement. My baby is weighing in at about 6.5 lbs and I am 34 weeks. But, according to my LMP I would be 35.5 weeks. We've been going by the early ultrasound due date. They have been tiptoeing around saying that I have placenta previa but it is confirmed this am that the placenta is remaining stubbornly by my cervix. Sounds like you are really right in line there. One more week to be considered full-term and you're body is already getting ready for the big day.
