How did your u/s go? I have 1 more u/s left and I can't wait. During my 1st trimester I had 4 u/s - every 2-3 weeks - and we were able to see the baby change onscreen from a "circle" to a baby. it was so exciting! I've only had 2 since and the baby changes so much in between. I'm a little sad that there is only 1 more before the birth. But excited to see the baby again.
My ultrasound went well, however he was asleep so if she couldn't get a good picture she couldn't get a good picture he didn't want to move at all. I had 2 in my first trimester and 2 in my second it is amazing to see how much he has grown even in 2 weeks he was almost to big to even fit on the screen!
I know i was so excited to see him but actually cried to brandon (myboyfriend and his father) about how that is the last time I'll see him until he is on my arms. HOpe yours goes well Let me know!
I've only had 2 u/s - and won't have another either (if all goes well - fingers crossed!) I had 4 in my last pregnancy: the first for the NT but since I wasn't quite as far along as they thought, they had to repeat it the following week. The third was the standart anatomy scan and then I had a fourth because I was overdue.
I know what you mean about being a bit sad about not getting to see the baby again until birth....but the real thing is SO much better :-)))
I only had 2 in my first trimester just because i had the vanishing twin syndrome so they had to see if the other sac was disappearing. Then I had two this trimester since he wouldn't hold still they couldn't get pictures of his kidneys.
I'm jealous...I've only had one u/s and that was in August! How many do you usually get in one pregnancy? I was hoping I'd get to see her again now that she's bigger! :)
i believe MOST doctors do two, one in the first trimester to make sure there is only one and make sure it is a liable pregnancy then one for the gender scan and everything else they need around 20 weeks.
My dr must be different cuz I never had one in my first trimester. She did one to determine sex and make sure everything thing was good back in August but that's been it so far. :(
all doctors are different! At least the baby was healthy! I believe my friends doctor only did one as well.
I've also heard of some doctor's only doing the one. My GP - who I saw until I was 20 weeks pregnant...now I'm seeing an OB - said that the first one is mainly to accurately date the pregnancy (and, as happy_mommy said, ensure it's viable and the heart is beating, etc.) Plus, they measure the nuchal translucency (neck thickness) at that point if you're going through any sort of maternal screening.
