I would go in with an open mind, I got to 8cms with no pain medicine, would've done it all natural if they didn't lose his H/B and I ended up with an emergency c-section. As long as you breathe through your contractions and try to relax through them, not tense up, and just let them happen, they go away much quicker and easier. If you need medicine, get it! That's what it's there for, so you can have a great birth experience that you'll want to remember and look back on, good luck!!

I had my first baby today!! I envy you women that can do it without an epidural. I just couldnt handle the pain, so i went ahead and got one and i must say it was a life saver for me! But if you can manage without one, again god bless ya ! lol

I had nothing with my first and don't regret it one bit. I managed it was tough but I survived! I didn't want the possible side effects or that needle! Gonna try it again tomorrow!
