Vomiting/Diarrhea

Hi, I'm approx 8 weeks along. I have been vomiting for 24hrs and have had diarrhea too. I haven't been able to eat anything for around 36hrs without bringing it straight back up (I tried plain crackers and dry toast). Even sipping water has me vomiting within 15/20mins of doing so. Question is, should I go see a Dr or maybe there is something I can get from a chemist that can help? Or is this normal and I just need to ride it out? Getting concerned as I feel quite dehydrated...sorry if it's a silly question. This is my first pregnancy that has progressed past 6 weeks so it's all new to me and of course I don't want to do anything to potentially jeopardise the pregnancy. Thanks.

Thanks for all your replies. It appears to have been a bug. I haven't vomited for almost two days and have been able to eat and drink again. Sorry I didn't reply sooner x

You know what, I agree with mrsp416. Call your dr or go to urgent care. And let us know that you are okay.

It sounds like your morning sickness might be severe. I would contact your dr and they can prescribe safe medications to settle your tummy. Mine isn't as bad anymore so I'm planning to just ride it out, but if I were constantly sick I would get the prescription. Hope this helps:)

Hey I have also had really bad morning sickness but thankfully have kept a bit of water and food down. If I were you and wasn't able to keep down any water go to the doctor and let them know how bad it is and that you are worried about dehydration. They will have to do something to help you. And when it's that bad you really need to let them know. Some women have it so badly they have to go into hospital and be on a drip. Talk to the doctor if you can't even drink water. I know how horrible this morning sickness is. Good luck xx
