anemia

Okay, so I took my glucose test last month and the results showed no gestational diabetes, but they said I'm anemic. So, I'm taking iron pills in addition to the prenatal vitamins. What are the risks of bring anemic while pregnant? I've always been anemic, but the doctor hadn't instructed me to take the iron pills until recently, and I'm 32 Weeks along. Also, will they test my blood again to see if it's improved? Thanks!

You don't have to wait for your dr to instruct you to take your iron pills....
Im not anemic... My blood results were fine but at the beginning of my pregnancy I was feeling nauseated.  I knew I needed the iron cuz I couldn't eat meat. I was feeling really  cold, weak, and not gaining weight.
So I ask my dr for iron pills......
I ask the dr if had to check my iron level before... he said no cuz iron pills are not bad and iron is always need during a pregnancy... Oh yeah we also loose a lot blood after we deliver our precious babies...
My dr. didn't want to give me the iron pills cuz of the side effects "constipation" but he did ... Lol =)
